Web Hosting and domain

During the internet marketing course, we were told that some web mastering knowledge is required. As such, I have just brought a domain from GoDaddy and intend to host it at HostGator.

GoDaddy advertised their .com domain price as US$9.99, but the price actually came up to US$30.00 after registration fee and private registration service. During the checking out process, I was bombarded with all kind of upgrades. They just want you to spend!
I think I'll not buy from them again!

The hosting fee at Hostgator seemed affordable at US$9.90 per month. If you make a one time payment for 2 years of hosting service, you will pay less. About US$7.90 per month. I am not sure if I'll use their service for 2 years and therefore I choose to pay on a monthly basis.

I know very little about web hosting and html, hence I think it is going to be a big challenge when I start using the cPanel.

Internet marketing Course continue

I was late today for my class! The traffic is very bad!

Today was my 3rd lesson on internet marketing. The lessons was quite interesting.

Some of the topics covered - affiliates marketing, RSS feed and feedburner.
Well, I am doing my homework now searching online for more information about what I learned today.

Internet marketing - Make money on line

If you do a Google search on the keywords ‘make money’, do you know how may leads there are? Well over 6 millions! Which one is should you choose?

I did some research and found that there are many ways to make money online, only some of them have good earning potentials. One of them, I suggest Internet Marketing as the best way to make money online.

Based on my finding, I signed up for a course on ‘internet marketing’ at the ITE. This is a 3 hours per week course for 6 weeks. I have just finished 2 sessions and I must say that I have learned so much that I am convinced that there is money to be made online.

On the other hand, internet marketing can be so dangerous. You may lose money if you do not have proper knowledge and guidance and you need to learn everything right from the basics. Once you get the core concept right, internet marketing should be a very profitable way of creating income from the internet.

You if are new to internet marketing, always be very careful. Never fall into the hype of websites that claim "be rich overnight" and "make money while sleeping" because they are scams. You will not be rich overnight through Internet Marketing. However, with little hard work and professional guidance you can certainly make money online easily within a short span of time. To be a successful Internet Marketer you need a professional program that teaches you to earn money online right from the basics.

Making money by trading from home – FOREX

Forex is so popular these days. I am seeing a lot of forex advertisement lately.
Banks, brokers and traders are out in full force trying to get people to trade.

Courses and seminars on how to ‘make money trading forex’
can be seen everyday on the newspaper. Is there easy money?

The internet has created an opportunity for anyone with a

PC and broadband to trade in forex. Simply sign up with any bank/broker that
offer online forex trading and you can start trading within a few days. You can
make a lot of money but can also make you lose a fortune too.

I do trade on forex once in a while. I find that it is not

difficult to make some pocket money but my advice to all, if you want to trade
in forex, do your home work first!

Forex trading is very speculative and surely not suitable

for the faint hearted.

Money talk - Inflation

Everyone is talking ‘inflation’. But what is inflation? In simple term, inflation is a rise in the general level of price over time. This also means that the purchasing power of money is slowly eroding. While the rich maybe not feel the pinch, the poor is definitely struggling.

A bowl of cooked white rice now cost $0.50. That’s a whopping 60% increase as compare to 2007. Cost of living is skyrocketing and seemed no sign slowing down any time soon. Are we facing a shortage epidemic? Or, is it because of speculation?

The rich will tell you, buy gold, buy stock, buy mutual fund…etc. Does it help? How much extra cash do you have to hedge against inflation? High inflation is here to stay for now. What should we do to flight inflation?

As a matter of fact, there is nothing much you and I can do about inflation. But we must take inflation into consideration when making any financial decision. If you plan to retire within 20 years with 1 million dollars, then you better raise your target higher to 1.8 million.

If you still have money in the bank right now, go look for another bank which pay you higher interest rate. I know saving is a not a wise choice, but it is better than spending all your money.

Stop spending beyond your needs. Look for opportunities to make more money and improve cash flow. When you have spare cash, you can invest.

Pay off your debts. Take the highest one first and start making multiple payments. If the payment is $200.00 a month, see if you can cough up $400.00 a month. If not, at least increase your payment.

Selling on ebay

Selling on ebay proved to be one of my most successful business. Few years back, a good friend of mine told me about ebay. He was doing quite well and making good income at that time and he encourages me to try. I did just that!

Selling on ebay for beginner can be very tough. There are lots of things to learn. From sourcing products to listing, selling and shipping, you have to know everything! I begin by reading books about 'selling on ebay'. One advantage of selling on ebay is that you can work from the comfort of your home.

Ebay has changed quite a lot from the time I started selling. The world's biggest online auction site is getting crowded and competition is fierce. There are more sellers than ever before and profit is dwindling. Selling on ebay is less attractive now as compare to few years back.
Other than intense competition, ebay has increased their 'fees' many times. (You need to pay 'listing fee' and 'final value fee' when you sell on ebay). Another cost to consider is 'Paypal fee'. (Fee to pay when you receive payment)

So much to pay and so little return, maybe the time is right to leave ebay and starts searching for another business opportunity.
